- Kapton® is a polyimide polymer film which has excellent properties for construction of flexible heaters with etched foil.
- Kapton® has excellent durability and is a highly flexible material used often in flex circuits.
- Kapton® excellent dielectric strength, as .001” (.025 mm) thickness will provide 5000 volts insulation.
- Birk uses two bonding systems: acrylics and FEP Teflon®. Acrylic can operate up to 250ºF (120ºC) and FEP up to 500ºF (260ºC).
- Flexible heaters made from Kapton® can be as thin as .006” (.152mm).
