Silicone Rubber Heaters
- Silicone rubber offers a very flexible material with good dielectric quality which can conform to various shaped surfaces.
- Silicone rubber heaters have temperature capability of 450F (223C) with watt density of up to 30 watts per square inch when properly controlled.
- Voltages of up to 750 volts are available.
- Silicone rubber will remain flexible down to -60F (-65c).
- Silicone rubber heaters use fiberglass as the reinforced member in construction of silicone rubber heaters.
- Silicone rubber heaters can be designed with either resistance wire or etched foil.
- They can be vulcanized to metal surfaces which provide an excellent bond.
- Pressure sensitive adhesives are also available to bond silicone rubber heaters to work surfaces.
- Proper application of heaters is very important to the life of the product and Birk would be pleased to offer application engineering at any time.
